My Story
Photography first captured my heart through a simple Kodak camera and the quiet influence of my Uncle Herman. At a family gathering, I picked up the camera and took my first photo. Although I no longer have that picture, the memory stays close to my heart, especially now that many of those family members have passed on. Uncle Herman was our family photographer, the person who gathered everyone together and captured each moment in his own way. Some of my favorite memories are of him taking my sister and me to the park, letting us play while he photographed us naturally. Those black-and-white images still remain in my mother’s photo album. Looking back, I understand how much family history he preserved through those photographs. His example continues to inspire me to offer that same meaningful service to others.
